Paréntesis is Pulsamerica’s premier opinion page. Our aim is to analyze current Latin American issues–whether in the realm of art, politics, or economics– with a critical eye.

The space between parentheses is an interlude of explanation and further analysis. Within these curved brackets, some writers elaborate and provide extra commentary on a given point, while others shed more light on a given issue (often, it is here that a writer’s voice makes a cameo appearance).

With this understanding of parentheses in mind, and in the spirit of Roberto Bolaño’s book of critical essays, Entre Parentesis, we have titled our opinion page Paréntesis.

Our young team of writers hail from various continents and have a wide-ranging repertoire of experiences in Latin America.
